Terry Schiavo
This was provoked by Kal els post on the subject found here it is a very sadly over due post on the subject. It was originally intended as a response and I'm to lazy to retype it.
One more note about the whole Terry Schiavo incident, her husband had a whole bunch of neglect and abuse suits already against him AND he never ever attempted therapy for his wife!!!
Here is an interesting story, a couple were having a baby and on a regular checkup the doctor found out that the baby had almost no brain, brain stem and a little bit of brain, but most of the skull was filled with fluid. Of course the doctor suggested an abortion as the kid would be severely retarded and worse. Well the parents decided to have the baby anyways. Long story short after draining the fluid from the head of the baby its brain which was actually there the whole time, just smushed, filled in the skull and now the kid is just as capable as me or you. Moral is doctors mean well but aren't always right. Also doctors may not know about all possible treatments out there you have to check that!!!
One more thing, I'm sorry but that man was one sick sonofabitch! I know that sounds harsh but the man STARVED someone to death, one of the most painful ways to go!! That is just sick. If I truly believed that there was no return for my wife and she would rather die then stay like that, yes I might honer that, but let me tell you I would take a gun and shoot her in the head before I did what Mr. Schiavo did to his wife!! HOW HOW can that be legal?? Any man that would stave his wife to death should be thrown in a jail cell and have the favor returned!!!!! that or be castrated because he doesn't deserve to have a set!!!

ps I am truly sorry if you found this offensive but hell were kind enough to put down our suffering pet without pain, why don't we demand the same from some one who would put down a human, a life we hold SO MUCH more dear?! Or does human life not even mean that much to you??
pss I don't care if Mr. Schiavo didn't have any other option, he had the choice to fight for the right to use a more humane method, or take matters into his own hands!
psss BTW I in no way advocate suicide, assisted suicide, euthanasia , or abortion. I abhor the use of any of these. Lord knows how incredibly torn I would be if anyone I love, much less my wife, asked any of these of me. My problem is the means of ending Terry Schiavo's life were down right abusive, and would have been highly protested(as they should be) if this was done to an animal. My point here is where do our and especially Mr. Schiavo's priorities lay.
